Arvil Roscoe Beaird, 72, of Massy Point, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Sunny Lane Cemetery Funeral Home Chapel at Sunny Lane Funeral Home and Cemetery in Del City.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sunny Lane Funeral Home and Cemetery in Del City.
He was born March 31, 1940, to George and Ammie (Smith) Beaird in Eufaula.
On July 15, 1959, he married Martha Ann Prater.
He joined the U.S. Army and spent from 1966 to 1968 serving in Korea.
After his return, he spent 30 years working for Oklahoma City Schools and in 1990 retired settling at Massy Point near Crowder.
He was a western movie enthusiast, an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed professional wrestling.
He was a member of the Eufaula Veterans of Foreign Warfare Post No. 8798.
He was survived by one son and a daughter-in-law, Wayne Beaird and wife Nancy of Blanchard; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Shirl Dycus and husband Donnie of Massy Point, Terri Beaird of Massy Point, Jeania Beaird and husband Pedro Remirez of Oklahoma City; brothers, Marion and Jerry Beaird; grand-children, Christopher, Sarah, Rachel, Donnie, Alisha, Maricela, Pedro, Carlos, Mayra, Eric, Adam and Brian; seven great-grandchildren; a nephew and niece, Douglas Beaird and Ronda Frair.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Martha Ann (Prater) Beaird; his parents, George and Ammie (Smith) Beaird and his brothers, Douglas and Rickey Beaird.
Pallbearers are Eric Martinez, Adam Martinez, Brian Martinez, Donnie Dycus, Ronnie Joe Frair, and Ronnie Allen Frair.
Honorary pallbearers are Tony Ford and Douglas Beaird.
