McALESTER —
Alice Syble Young, 86, of Krebs, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Brumley-Mills Chapel with the Rev. Chip Lott officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born Oct. 12, 1926, in Paris, Ark., she was the daughter of Andre’ Marcus and Elizabeth (Foley) Ruffatt. She married Carl Young on May 28, 1940.
She worked as a clerk and cashier at the Hostess Thrift Store for many years and was a member of the Bakers Confectionary Union. Her favorite past time was fishing.
She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in McAlester.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Cecil Wayne and Jacqulyn Young, of Krebs; one daughter, Syble Bone, of Krebs; and grandchildren, Donna Morris and her partner, Elizabeth, of Oklahoma City, Michelle and Daryl Rainer, of Houston, Carl and Kelli Morris, of Wichita Falls, Texas, Virgil and Chasity Young, of McAlester, Londa Cravens, of McAlester, Jami and James Campbell, of McAlester, Jessie and Jeff Otis, of McAlester, and Billie Sistrunk, of McAlester.
Also, 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Sylvia Owens, of Fort Smith, Ark., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andre’ Marcus and Elizabeth Ruffatt; her husband, Carl Young; two sisters, Lucille Basore and Louise Collins; one brother, Doan Ruffatt; one daughter-in-law, Katie Young; one son-in-law, Donald Bone; great-grandson, Christopher Morris, and her mother-in-law, Flossie Young.
Pallbearers will be Carl Morris, Virgil Young, Daryl Rainer, Eric Waller and James Campbell.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
