Alvin Faries, 65, of McAlester, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital, Oklahoma City.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bishop Chapel of Memories, officiated by the Revs. Davie Jones and Chuck Campbell. Interment will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Sans Bois Cemetery, Kinta.
Funeral services are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
Born in McAlester on June 17, 1947, he was the son of Herman and Vena Murrie Faries.
He attended Pauls Valley State Home for about 25 years until he joined his family and lived with his father. He helped ladies by mowing their lawns and doing by odd jobs around town.
He was a lifetime member of the Primitive Baptist Church in McAlester.
He is survived by two brothers and one sister in law, William and Camilla Faries and Jimmy Lee Faries, all of McAlester; sister, Sharon Bess, of McAlester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents and brother, Allen Wayne Faries.
Active pallbearers will be, Joe Randazzo, Vince Lalli, Joey Lalli, Jeremy Lalli, Geary Smith and Lanie Smith.
