Royal Buddy Sadler

McALESTER — Royal Buddy Sadler, 83, of McAlester, Friday December 28, 2012.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bishop Funeral Service.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Apostolic Church of McAlester at B Street and Jackson Avenue. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Revs. Bobby Price, Jerry L. Heard and Shane Burns will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the VFW Robert B. Thomas, Post 1098. Arrangements are under direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Born to Bud Richard and Choisey Mae (Hale) Sadler July 18, 1929 in Beebe, Oklahoma.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  Royal moved from Belton, Texas in 1980 to McAlester.  He worked as a welder in the oil fields. Royal married JoAnn Smith July 31, 1995 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He was a member of the Apostolic UPC of McAlester and traveled building churches.  He enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren; hunting and fishing, shooting his slingshot, picking up pecans and going to church. He was survived by hi wife JoAnn of the home; daughters, Shela K. Lanford and husband, Raymond of McAlester, Sherrie R. Martinez of McAlester, Velenda K. Duhon and husband, Wayne of Tomball, Texas; son, Bryan K. Sadler and wife Melody of Ozark, Missouri; step-daughter, Alina Jo Horn and husband, A.J. Of Lehigh;

grandchildren, Ramona Holland and husband, Jerry, Courtney Burns, Rev. Shane Burns and wife, Adele, Autumn Ramsey and husband, Josh, Lacie Sadler -Peterson and husband, Nathan, Jerin Sadler, James Alan Kelley, Samuel Horn; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Jim V. Sadler and wife, Paula of Slaton, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Choisey Sadler, six brothers, one sister.

Active Pallbearers will be: Charlie Been, Claude Lackey, Dan Denny, Paul Rogers, Al Gray and Davy Warren.       

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joey Waldrop, John Yates, Denver Mantooth.
