McALESTER —  

Mike DeGiacomo, 62, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 10 at Church of the Epiphany at 7336 W. Britton Road. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Vondel Smith Mortuary North in Oklahoma City.

Born May 19, 1950, in McAlester, he was the son of Angelo and Minnie DeGiacomo. He graduated from St. John’s High School in 1968. He earned his B.A. in mathematics from Oklahoma State University.

He served as a sergeant in the United States Army from 1973 De.to 1981.

He had work for 27 year for the city of Oklahoma City, serving as the streets superintendent. He was smart, generous and caring.

Survivors include his wife, Yvonne (Von); brother, Angelo; sister-in-laws, Risa Martin, Sandy Ross and Shirley DeGiacomo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
