McALESTER —
Loren Jenkins, 95, of McAlester, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at Mitchell Manor Convalescent Center.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Brother Rodney Briggs officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born Dec. 21, 1916, in Mounds, he was the son of George and Myrtle May (Coffey) Jenkins. He married Christina Frankie Barnard on Feb. 4, 1939, in Henryetta.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and genealogy. He was a Mason, a member of the Holiday Rambler RV Club and the National Machine Accountants Association. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Christina Jenkins, of McAlester; son and daughter-in-law, David Loren and Janice Jenkins, of Texas; daughter-in-law, Nancy Jenkins, of Farmington, N.M.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and sisters-in-law, Mildred Gaddy, of Tulsa, Vera Green, of Minnesota, Vernie Clark, of McAlester, Donna Ely, of McAlester, and Ruth Barnard, of Texas.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Alan Jenkins.
