David R. (Bob) Windle

McALESTER — David  R. (Bob) Windle, 81, of Stuart, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at Saint Johns Medical Center in Tulsa.

No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born Jan. 20, 1931, in Haywood, he was the son of Vern and Bertie (Roberson) Windle. He attended school at Bethel Hill, Haywood and Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton.

He was a Korean War veteran.

He retired from the United States Army Ammunition Plant after 30 years of service as a forklift operator.

He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He also loved his friends and neighbors.

Survivors include his wife, Lenora, of the home; a daughter, Marianna Lawson, of Las Vegas, Nev.; three granddaughters Erica, Katie and Nichole, all of Las Vegas; and three grandsons, Lloyd Mason, Josh Mason and Cadin Windle.

Also, five sisters, Dorothy Edwards, Violet Jabara, Sue Chubbee, Virgie Walker and Joyce Ward, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vern and Bertie Windle; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tom and Annie Gewin; sons, David and Andrew Windle; sister, Goldie Windle, and a brother, Bill Windle.
