McALESTER —
Freshman basketball tournament action hosted by McAlester got under way Thursday at two gyms, and the one game involving a host freshman team ended in a large McAlester win.
The McAlester High School freshman boy’s team won over Colbert by 34 points, 62-28, as Coach Ryan Walters team took care of the team from extreme southern Oklahoma.
The freshman girl’s team had a bye in Thursday’s first-round action, and Coach Aron Holt’s team has its first game of the tournament today at 2 p.m. against Durant at Bob Brumley Gymnasium.
The freshman tournament concludes Saturday with noon and 1 p.m. championship games set at Bob Brumley Gymnasium.
