McALESTER — The 2011-12 McAlester girls’ basketball team went 20-8. The Lady Buffs reached the state semi-finals before losing to East Central.
That’s a terrific season by anyone’s standards. But considering that only one of last year’s starting five graduated, suddenly last season becomes a potential prelude to something even bigger.
“Our team is really strong,” Lady Buffs second-year coach April Burns said Tuesday. “In our few scrimmages that we’ve had so far, we’ve done really well.”
