WILBURTON — Wilburton’s boys’ basketball team will begin the 2012-13 season with a new man at the helm: Shawn Hooker, who takes over as head coach after five years of coaching in Jay, Okla.
The Diggers went 10-14 last season, and of the 17 currently playing, eight are freshman. They may be young, but that just gives the underclassmen more chances to shine.
The Lady Diggers went 24-6 last year, falling one game short of the state tournament by losing to Salina in the area tournament consolation final.
