The dog days of summer are upon us, which impacts the bass fishing scene. (Where did that phrase — the dog days of summer — come from, anyway? It’s unlikely to have originated from a pro-canine lobbying group.)
Veteran bass tournament angler and longtime friend Chuck Courts talked with me this week and shared his summer tips on catching largemouth in these hottest months of the year.
“Finesse,” was the word Courts used, and he readily admits to being a power fisherman. But, as in any sport, it’s not always doing what you want but what you need for a better chance at success.
