HARTSHORNE — Doyle Wilson has been playing pool for over 30 years. He’s struck so many cues, bounced it off so many rails and pocketed so many eight-balls that those first games are just a distant memory.
“It just relaxes me,” said Wilson Saturday at Danny’s Pool Hall in Hartshorne.
That relaxation carries over to his demeanor above the green felt: calm, focused and precise, Doyle needs just a moment to choose his target, grab his cue and strike with a smooth, linear motion. Not only does his target-ball roll effortlessly into the pocket, but the cueball bounces off it perfectly, setting up the next shot.
