Kiowa Cowgirls win state quarter-final

Addy Clift scores 31 in victory.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Some of her teammates may have been nervous, but not Kiowa Cowgirls sophomore Addy Clift. Clift scored 31 points, powering Kiowa to a 55-47 win against Fort Cobb-Broxton in the Class A state quarter-finals on Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena at Oklahoma City Universty.

Kiowa will face Cheyenne/Reydon on Friday at 9 p.m. at State Fair Arena in OKC.

Buffs prepare for summer football schedule
The McAlester Buffaloes won’t play their first game of the 2013 season until Sept. 7, when they travel to Stillwater. But the Buffaloes plan to make good use of the four and half months until then, with spring football practice starting this week and continuing next week.
