McALESTER — The National Federation of State High School Associations announced its Oklahoma State Coaches of the Year on Feb. 14, and Savanna softball coach Angie Wilson was among the 20 selected.
“The NFHS, which has recognized coaches through an awards program since 1982, honors coaches in the top 10 girls sports and the top 10 boys sports (by participation numbers), and in one other that is not included in those 20 categories,” the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association said in the press release announcing the selections. It added that Spirit was the 21st award category for 2012.
Wilson guided the Lady Bulldogs all the way to the state championship during the fall fast-pitch softball season.
