McALESTER — No one envisioned the 2012 McAlester Buffaloes’ 0-3 start, but as painful and frustrating as those losses have been, they mean absolutely nothing in terms of the Buffs’ playoff chances.
That all changes Friday, when the Noble Bears come to town for the start of district play.
“This is a huge, huge, huge game for us,” McAlester coach Bryan Pratt said Thursday. “This is a must-win game.”
To get that win, McAlester will have to halt Noble’s powerful running game, led by senior Jimmy Wood. In his last two games, Wood has rushed for 255 yards on 35 carries, scoring four times.
