Go fishing for free June 1-2
Oklahoma anglers can fish for free during Free Fishing Days, which takes place June 1-2. During these days, a state fishing license will not be required for anglers to go fishing in Oklahoma.

Eastern Baseball to host Try-Out Camp
Eastern Oklahoma State College will host a baseball try-out camp for graduating high school seniors and juniors in the region on Sunday, June 2, at 2 p.m. in Wilburton.

Cowboy Caravan fundraiser held in Krebs
The Pittsburg County chapter of the Oklahoma State Alumni organization drew 117 former Cowboys and Cowgirls to Pete’s Place in Krebs for Thursday’s Cowboy Caravan fundraiser. Former Cowboys and Cowgirls got to pose with OSU mascot Pistol Pete, bid on autographed balls and other memorabilia, and talk with OSU football’s defensive coordinator and girls’ basketball coach.

Buffs prepare for summer football schedule
The McAlester Buffaloes won’t play their first game of the 2013 season until Sept. 7, when they travel to Stillwater. But the Buffaloes plan to make good use of the four and half months until then, with spring football practice starting this week and continuing next week.

Junior Sunbelt Classic schedule released
The schedule for the Junior Sunbelt Classic baseball tournament has been released. Games begin on Frdiay, June 7, at 9 a.m., and conclude with the championship on Wednesday, June 12, at 7:45 p.m. at Mike Deak Field in McAlester.
