TUSHKA — The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association may not have taken the Quinton Lady Savages seriously last week. But after the softball team’s run through the Tushka Tournament, few can ignore them anymore.
The Lady Savages won all five of their tournament games, capping everything with an 8-0 win over fifth-ranked Tushka in the finals on Saturday. Now at 19-3, Quinton jumped four sports in the OSSAA 2A rankings, taking over at ninth.
“We picked up some big, important wins that will hopefully gain us some respect in the rankings,” Quinton coach Tara Satterfield said Tuesday.
