McALESTER —
It’s a good thing McAlester athletics’ folks are no stranger to multi-tasking as there are a number of winter-spring sports activities over the course of the week.
Tonight, road action for McAlester’s Buffaloes and Lady Buffs basketball teams will give them their first opportunity to play in the gym on Durant’s new high school campus. The girl’s varsity tips at 6:30, with the boy’s varsity to follow.
Thursday, Buff varsity wrestlers host Coweta in a dual in the last home match of the season for McAlester, with homecoming and senior night all rolled into one.
Also Thursday, the yearly ninth grade basketball tournament hosted by McAlester gets under way.
Early games in the ninth grade tournament will help clear Bob Brumley for use for high school basketball with Hugo on Friday evening. After the junior varsity boy’s and girl’s games, the girl’s varsity is to tip at 6:30 p.m., with the boys game to follow. It is also senior night for McAlester High School basketball Friday.
Saturday, McAlester will compete in an indoor track meet McAlester at 9 a.m. at the University of Oklahoma.
