Cowgirls beat Lady Scorpions, advance to area tournament

KIOWA — Only seven players suited up for the Boswell Lady Scorpions in Thursday’s regional semi-final.

That’s not nearly enough to beat the speedy and deep Kiowa Cowgirls.

The Cowgirls out-played the Lady Scorpions almost from the opening tip, and the Cowgirls went on to win at home, 75-49. Kiowa advanced to next week’s Area IV Tournament at the Southeast Expo Center in McAlester win the win.

The Cowgirls, who improved to 20-7 with the win, played in the regional championship against Turner at home Saturday night.
