McALESTER — The McAlester Buffaloes entered Friday's game against the Hale Rangers at Hook Eales Stadium hoping to fine-tune their passing game, but cool temperatures and gusting winds quickly killed that idea.
Instead, the Buffs went back to doing what they do best: running the ball and blocking punts. And when the Buffs do what they do best, few teams can stop them.
Caden Pratt rushed for three touchdowns and threw for a fourth, while Jarome Smith recovered two blocked punts for touchdowns and rushed for another, powering the Buffaloes to a 56-14 blowout over the Rangers. McAlester remains undefeated in district play, adding the maximum 15 points to its tie-breaking score differential of plus-38.
