McALESTER —
McAlester Varsity Pom Squad will host a dance clinic on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lucy Smith Activity Center on the McAlester High School campus.
The clinic will prepare participants to perform during the McAlester High School varsity basketball game against Ada on Jan. 15
The Kids’ Clinic for 3 year olds to sixth graders will teach children a dance routine for the basketball game. The seventh and eighth graders’ Technique Class will teach the participants proper technique used at pom squad auditions in the spring and a kick line dance routine for the basketball game. They will also experience what it’s like to be a pom squad team member.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing with either dance or tennis shoes. Black-soled street shoes are not to be worn in the gym.
Each participant will receive a clinic T-shirt, CD of their routine’s music, memory photo, pizza, snacks and drinks at the clinic.
Registration for the clinic is $40 per participant. If you’re paying by check, make the check payable to MHS Pom Squad with the participants’s name in the memo space. Participants’ parent/guardian will need to sign a release when their child is checked in.
Contact Penny Oss, McAlester High School or any MHS Pom Squad member for a registration form.
Oss’s email is poss@mcalester.k12.ok.us.
Please drop off child’s registration at the McAlester High School or mail them to Oss at 808 E. South Ave., McAlester, OK 74501.
