POTEAU — A team facing a seven-run deficit going into its final inning could easily go quietly into defeat.
The Hartshorne Miners didn’t go quietly at all, but they still came up two runs short of a comeback.
A four-run sixth inning proved the difference for the Seminole Chieftains, who held on to beat the Miners on Wednesday in the Poteau Festival, 9-7.
With the win, Seminole improved to 7-1. Hartshorne fell to 6-2.
