HOLDENVILLE — The Stuart Lady Hornets used a combination of high-intensity defense and three-point shooting to score the first 13 points of Tuesday’s game.
The Moss Lady Pirates never recovered.
Stuart sophomore forward Emilee Beck recorded a double-double with 16 rebounds and 28 points, leading her team to a 61-33 over Moss at the Moss Public Schools Gymnasium in Holdenville.
Stuart’s guard-combination of freshman Megan Jernigen and sophomore Chasity Garvin gave the Moss offense fits on Tuesday. Whenever a Lady Pirate would try to dribble the ball, Jernigen and Garvin would quickly converge and surround that player, forcing an errant pass or a turnover.
