Low Turnout Doesn’t Cancel Football Camp

McALESTER — Next Level Sports Camp only signed up 20 kids to its two-day McAlester program, but director Aso Pogi went ahead with the program anyway Tuesday morning at Hook Eales Stadium.

“We’re under the cost right now,” Pogi told parents Tuesday. “I’m losing money. But I don’t think it’s fair, and I also feel like in order to establish a Next Level name in McAlester, we need to put (camp) on.”

Buffs prepare for summer football schedule
The McAlester Buffaloes won’t play their first game of the 2013 season until Sept. 7, when they travel to Stillwater. But the Buffaloes plan to make good use of the four and half months until then, with spring football practice starting this week and continuing next week.
