McALESTER — On Saturday, “Team Rundown,” of McAlester, wins the 2012 Adult Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) Coed Softball State Championship in Norman. They won their first round game by a score of 19-18, the second round game by a score of 16-7 and the third round game by a score of 11-9. They advanced to the finals where they needed one win before two losses to win it all. They lost the first game of the finals by a score of 11-9 and won the deciding game by a score of 11-8. All games went 7 innings. This is their first state championship as a team. Fighting KOs Eufaula Classic in third
Fighting between the North and South All-Star teams forced the 29th annual Lake Eufaula Classic to end without a winner with 6:41 left in the third quarter. The South had been leading when the game ended, 12-10.

Dugout Club still seeking Sunbelt hosts
With the 2013 Junior Sunbelt Classic baseball tournament starting up on June 6, McAlester baseball's Dugout Club is still looking for host families.
Buff soccer player makes Olympic program
McAlester incoming sophomore Jerika Parent has been accepted into the U.S. Youth Soccer Oklahoma Olympic Development Program, which plays other state ODP teams through the southeastern America.
Tennis, Basketball and Summer Pride camps starting up
Summer Tennis, Jr. Buffs Basketball Camp and McAlester Summer Pride sports camps will all be starting up in the next four weeks.
Future Stars camp coming in June
Future Stars Athletic Training will offer a four-day basketball camp from June 3-6 for children in kindergarten through the eighth grade. The camp will cost $50 and will take place at 1609 N. Strong Blvd., Suite 500B.
Pitt 8 announces All-Conference teams
The Pitt 8 Conference has announced its All-Conference baseball and slowpitch softball teams. Stuart won the conference in both spring sports, while Crowder was runner-up in both.
