PITTSBURG — At its core, basketball comes down to shooting. Without points, a team can’t win.
Krebs Elementary School’s third- and fourth-grade boys’ basketball team made its shots, and that carried them to 21-10 win against Haywood in the championship of the Pittsburg Elementary Invitational Tournament on October 1-6 at Dee Foster Gymnasium. Krebs coach Curtis Church credited the win to his five starters: Ethan West, Jaxon Walters, Payton Labor, Cabe Martin and Duegray Soles.
“We haven’t won a first place in a tournament in a long time in any age group,” Church said.
