Lady Diggers win home tournament against Lady Ironheads

WILBURTON — WILBURTON — The Wilburton Lady Digger offense looked at times chaotic in their championship game of the Wilburton Invitational Tournament on Saturday. At times, the offense looked flustered, and at times it simply looked exhausted.

But no matter how they played offensively, the Lady Diggers never slacked on the defense, and that was enough to carry the day.

The Lady Diggers held the Eufaula Lady Ironheads scoreless over the final 1:23 of the game, and the Lady Diggers converted eight of 11 free-throw attempts during that stretch to beat Lady Ironheads, 55-48, and claim a home-tournament championship.
