McALESTER — The Haileyville Warriors entered this past weekend’s Dee Foster Basketball Invitational with just a 3-9 record. Three days later, they left with a 6-9 record, including beating Wilson-Henryetta in Saturday’s final, 52-45.
It was the Warriors’ fourth win in their last five games, and the first tournament championship at Haileyville since 1989.
Just like the Haileyville boys, the Pittsburg girls went 3-0 at the Dee Foster Basketball Invitational, improving their record to 12-6.
The Lady Panthers capped their tournament with a 53-43 win against Soper in the finals.
