McALESTER — Here's your daily look at sports going on around town!

• McAlester (0-1) football head to Tulsa to take on Booker T Washington (1-0) at 7:30 p.m.!

• The Quinton Savages (1-0) host the Wilburton Diggers (0-1) in a varsity football game at 7:30 p.m.

• Haileyville (0-1) plays Pocola at home at 7:30 p.m.

• Hartshorne (0-1) football heads to Heavener for a 7:30 p.m. game

• Little League championships starting this week

  The Pittsburg County Little League season is nearly over. The Big 13 division began its week-long championship tournament Monday, and the other divisions’ final tournaments begin next week.

• Justus Sheffield says goodbye to Sunbelt

  Justus Sheffield is the first Tennessee player to ever play in three consecutive Jr. Sunbelt Classic baseball tournaments. His 2011 and 2012 squads went undefeated and won back-to-back championships, while his 2013 squad finished fourth.

• Three HRs power Texas past Tennessee

  Texas starter Aaron Fletcher limited Tennessee to one run on four hits, and Texas’ offense belted out three home runs to run-rule Tennessee in the third-place game of the 2013 Jr. Sunbelt Championship at Mike Deak Field in McAlester, 5-3 in five innings.
