Quinton softball wins district championship

QUINTON — Another big tournament, another big win for Quinton High School’s softball team. This time, the Lady Savages added the Crowder Demonettes to their ever-growing list of defeated opponents.

Quinton beat Crowder 9-1 in Game 1, then won 11-1 in Game 2., to win its district championship Tuesday afternoon at the Quinton Activity Complex.

Buffs prepare for summer football schedule
The McAlester Buffaloes won’t play their first game of the 2013 season until Sept. 7, when they travel to Stillwater. But the Buffaloes plan to make good use of the four and half months until then, with spring football practice starting this week and continuing next week.
