TULSA — The McAlester Buffaloes used seven different rushers Friday night against the Booker T Washington Hornets. Each brought a different set of skills, ranging from Jarome Smith’s speed and athleticism to the newly returned Devin Rolan’s strength and power.
This multi-faceted rushing attack worked for a time, but eventually the Hornets starting stacking the box with more defenders.
After that, it was all Hornets.
Booker T Washington held McAlester scoreless in the second half Friday, holding on for a 27-17 victory at S.E. Williams Stadium in Tulsa after lightning delayed the start of the game by an hour and 20 minutes. The Hornets improved to 2-0 while the Buffaloes dropped to 0-2.
