McALESTER —
A McAlester man who was recently involved with a local meth lab explosion pleaded guilty Friday in Pittsburg County District Court.
Ronnie Hambry, 25, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine). Hambry was one of four McAlester residents arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. The other three, Samantha Nicole Stoneburner, 23; Matthew Cole Davenport, 30; and Jonathan Ryan Davis, 28, are due back in court this month to face charges.
All were accused of manufacturing methamphetamine in a home on East Harrison Avenue in December.
“We got a call about an explosion in the area of Fifth (Street) and Harrison (Avenue),” said McAlester Police Assistant Chief Darrell Miller.
When the District 18 Joint Task Force went to investigate, said Pittsburg Count Sheriff Joel Kerns, task force officers "found a full-blown working meth lab,” Kerns said. “And four people were arrested.”
After pleading guilty to the reduced charge, Hambry was fined $1,237.50 and judgment and sentencing were deferred for five years.
If convicted, the other three are facing life in prison.
