Sex charges are filed against MHS senior
An 18-year-old McAlester High School senior has been charged with four sex offenses.
Dalton James Earhart, 18, Rt. 3 McAlester, was charged Wednesday with two felony counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of attempting to transmit information for the purpose of instigating sexual conduct with a minor, a felony, or, in the alternative, two counts of attempting to display material harmful to a minor, a misdemeanor.
McAlester Superintendent Jim Northcutt said he couldn’t comment much on the case, but “He is not attending McAlester High School at this time. I can safely say that.”
Earhart allegedly had pictures of underage girls exposing their breasts on his cellular telephone.
He is also alleged to have transmitted photographs of a sex organ to at least two different minors.
In both cases, the transmissions didn’t reach their intended target, being intercepted by a parent instead, according to court documents.
If convicted, each possession of child pornography charge is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
