Man faces sex charge
A McAlester man who allegedly turned himself in after being confronted has been charged with three counts of lewd molestation.
Brian Martinez, 20, is charged with molesting a 6-year-old girl on three different occasions this month.
If convicted, he could be sentenced to from three to 20 years per count.
Deputies Tom Steele and Danny Kelly, of the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case, which happened at a home just south of the McAlester city limits.
“It’s my understanding the victim was a relative of (Martinez’s) girlfriend,” Undersheriff Richard Sexton said.
A family member of the victim allegedly walked in during one molestation incident Wednesday night, Sexton said, adding Martinez turned himself in to the sheriff’s department after a confrontation with the victim’s family member.
Martinez is also alleged to have molested the girl on Oct. 2 and on Monday.
