McALESTER — McAlester city councilors voted unanimously Tuesday night to convey $700,000 to McAlester Public Schools

The action had been tabled from a previous council meeting. In the interim the council asked for — and received — a signed memorandum of understanding from the McAlester Board of Education stating the money will be used solely for the construction of roofs and roofing improvements on existing MPS facilities within the McAlester city limits.
