McALESTER —
A taco dinner and benefit auction has been set to raise funds for a Savanna girl who was recently injured in a car accident.
Nine-year-old Cheyann Cross was injured July 3 in an car accident along U.S. Highway 69.
To help raise funds for her medical expenses, the Kiowa Masonic Lodge # 117 is sponsoring an Indian taco dinner and silent auction on Aug. 25 from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Kiowa School cafeteria.
She has had multiple surgeries, long term hospitalization and she will need extended care, rehabilitation therapy and more surgeries.
Event organizers are asking for a $5 donation at the door for adults and $3 for children younger than 12 years of age.
The tacos will be prepared by the ladies of the Kiowa Eastern Star and music will be performed by “The Neighbors.” Business sponsorship and other donations are also welcome.
All proceeds, as well as matching funds from the Kiowa Masonic Lodge, will go towards Cross’s medical expenses.
