McALESTER —
A large group consisting of downtown merchants and others poured into City Hall during the regular Tuesday night city council meeting to show their support of the McAlester Main Street program.
Following a discussion, city councilors voted to approve the signing of a contract that will result in $28,000 in city money being funded into the program for the current 2012-2013 Fiscal Year — with some stipulations.
“They want us to provide them with a little more input,” said Chris Taylor, a board member for McAlester Main Street.
