On Tuesday, 1,000 head of cattle were sold at the McAlester Union Stockyards. Steers weighing less than 400 pounds sold steady to $5 lower than at the last sale. Heifers weighing less than 400 pounds sold $1 to $4 lower, and heifers weighing more than 400 pounds sold $2 to $10 higher.
Consignments are open for the next replacement cow and bull sale set for April 20.

There were 275 cows and bulls sold at the evening sale Tuesday at McAlester Union Stockyards.
Packer cows sold $3 to $4 higher than at the last sale, and packer bulls sold $4 lower.
High-yielding packer bulls sold from $104 to $107. Average-yielding packer bulls sold from $100 to $103. Low-yielding packer bulls sold from $94 to $99.
High-yielding packer cows sold from $82 to $89. Average-yielding packer cows sold from $77 to $85. Low-yielding packer cows sold from $72 to $81.
A sale is held at the stockyards every Tuesday, with sales of stocker and feeder cattle beginning at 10 a.m. and sales of cows and bulls beginning at 6 p.m.
