Forensic expert to speak to archeological society

The monthly meeting for the McAlester Archeological Society will be on May 14, from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Krebs City Hall in Krebs. Kent Buehler will be the speaker for this month’s meeting. He will be speaking on the “Historical Sandman Burial.”

Mr. Buehler is a native of Missouri. He received his B.A. from the University of Missouri, Columbia and an M.A. from the University of Oklahoma. Buehler is a lab manager and also teaches Anthropology. He has been with the Oklahoma Anthropological Survey since 1987. Buehler’s research interests are Plains prehistory, ecological anthropology, zoo archaeology/faunal analysis, subsistence-settlement systems, forensic anthropology, laboratory procedures and conservation.

He also serves as an instructor in forensic archaeology for the Oklahoma City Police Department's Technical Investigation School .

The McAlester Archeological Society is proud to have him as a speaker for the May meeting.

The meeting are open to the public and there is no charge to attend.
