‘Concert for heroes’ set for Saturday in Muskogee

A Concert for Heroes featuring the Swon Brothers will be held Saturday at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in honor of National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week. It is sponsored by the Voluntary Service Program at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center.

“We’re excited to offer something new to veterans and be able to involve the community,” said Greg Sorenson, chief of Voluntary Service. “We’re also thankful to be partnering with the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame by providing a venue for the concert.”

Tickets are $10 each and are available in Voluntary Service at the VA Medical Center, 1011 Honor Heights Dr., Muskogee, or at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, located at 401 S. Third, Muskogee.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

“Veterans will be able to get in for free but, because of limited seating, they need a ticket,” Sorenson said. “They just need to show some military or VA identification when picking up their ticket at either the VA or Music Hall of Fame.”

The Swon Brothers recently released “Another Day,” their first professional project to date. It’s country music with a one-of-a-kind sound. Driven by the brothers’ writing and melodies, the concert is sure to have a song to fit everyone’s taste.
