Murder suspect arrested in Hartshorne by PCSO officer

McALESTER — A murder suspect was arrested Thursday in Hartshorne by Pittsburg County Sheriff’s officer James Holloway.

The suspect, Kris Edward Bridges, 20, of Wagoner, was charged Monday with first degree murder after he was accused of fatally shooting 24-year-old Quincy D. Jones, who was found dead August 25, in an apartment in Tulsa, according to Tulsa County Court records.
Officer Holloway is part of the Eastern District Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force.
“When we receive information on a murder we act right away,” Holloway said.
The suspect was at his uncle’s home on Witchita Street in Hartshorne, according to Holloway.
He said while the task force officers were interviewing the uncle, the suspect ran out the back door and after a three block chase, the suspect was arrested.
“We did pursue and apprehend him,”
The case began August 25 when Tulsa Police were called to the Terrace Apartments in Tulsa, where Quincy Jones, 24, had been shot in a stairwell about 10:30 p.m., according to newson6.com.
An investigating officer performed CPR, but Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
The officers took another man to the station to question him about Jones’ murder, but allowed him to return home and didn't name him as a suspect.
When that man went back to the apartment complex, he was shot in the torso and neck, police said. He was transported to a local hospital where he was said to be stable.
He was later identified as 24-year-old Tyrig Saaffir.
Officers said the two shootings are related.
Meanwhile, Holloway said he’s one of eight sworn officers in the Eastern District Violent Crimes Task Force which covers 28 counties. He said the United States Marshall Service has three task force districts in Oklahoma and they all work together to apprehend dangerous suspects in cases of violent crimes, sexual crimes and crimes involving children.
