Lots of local students honored at annual 4-H banquet
Recently, our county 4-H program held the annual 4-H awards banquet to recognize our members and volunteers. The banquet is held annually in October, which is always National 4-H Month. The banquet?s primary purpose is to recognize the achievements of 4-H members that complete a county 4-H record book. The record book is a compilation of a 4-H member?s work in the program from the previous year. The focus areas of the record book include leadership and citizenship experiences. The record book also looks at what a member has learned from the work he or she did in the program. The books were evaluated and either received project medals for their work or a certificate of participation. We also recognized our members that completed a State Record Book, which is a compilation of a 4-H member?s entire career and includes the same areas as the county record book.
