McAlester native Brenda Pool, a member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch 54, was recently installed as president of the Association’s North Central Region. Pool will serve as a member of the association’s National Board of Directors for 2009-2010, representing FRA shipmates who reside in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Pool, a Navy veteran, is a life member of the association.
“It’s an honor to represent my shipmates in the North Central Region,” said Pool of the current and former enlisted personnel in the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard who comprise FRA’s membership. “I’m proud to represent veterans and take a leadership role in FRA’s legislative advocacy work to protect and enhance the quality of life for members of the Sea Services and their families.”
FRA is a congressionally chartered, non-profit organization representing the interests of current and former enlisted members of the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. In addition, FRA aids its members with career issues by maintaining close relationships with government agencies and by educating lawmakers.
