Kiwanis honor Students of the Month at Wilburton
Two seniors were recognized as Students of the Month for November by members of the Wilburton Kiwanis Club. The students were special guests during the club’s Nov. 18 meeting in the Student Life Center on the campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College.
Hannah Johnson is the daughter of Patricia Rector. She attends Wilburton High School where she is a member of FCS, FBLA, academic team, speech and drama, student council, science club, band, vocal music, Upward Bound math and science, and Native American language class. She has served as student council vice-president and the Native American language class student council representative. She was a member of the Regional championship academic team and received first place for vocal music in women and mixed choirs and ensemble.
Johnson is a member of the Wilburton Church of Christ. She plans to attend Eastern upon graduation and majoring in accounting or nursing.
John Sokolosky is the son of John and Sherri Sokolosky. He attends Wilburton High School where he is a member of the Digger basketball team, FFA, speech and drama, and vocal music. He has served as treasurer for the Wilburton FFA chapter, as a student council representative, and was selected as a delegate to Oklahoma Boys State.
Sokolosky attends the Presbyterian Church in Wilburton. He enjoys playing basketball, fishing, reading, and camping. He plans to attend Eastern upon graduation pursuing a career in physical education.
