Felonies
The following felony cases were decided in Pittsburg County District Court Nov. 10-13. Dispositions include dismissed cases, suspended and deferred sentences, and sentences from trials and plea bargains. Listings do not include any court costs assessed.
• Michael Wayne Butcher, 28, of Chelsea pleaded guilty Nov. 13 to possession of controlled substance, methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Judgment and judgment and sentencing were deferred for three years.
• Clay A. Cooper, 41, of McAlester pleaded guilty Nov. 13 to aggravated DUI. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for three years and he was fined $500. Cooper was also sentenced to attend DUI school, a victims impact panel and to seek drug and alcohol abuse evaluation. Cooper was charged with a prior conviction enhancement for a misdemeanor actual physical control while under the influence of alcohol in 2001, for which a six month sentence was suspended.
• Dismissed Nov. 13 for George Randall Henson, 53, of the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center, was a charge of escaping from the Department of Corrections.
• Michael Wayne Klucas, 37, of rural McAlester pleaded guilty Nov. 10 to omitting to provide for a minor. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for five years.
Misdemeanors
The following misdemeanor cases were decided in Pittsburg County District Court Nov. 10-17. Dispositions include dismissed cases, suspended and deferred sentences, and sentences from trials and plea bargains. Listings do not include any court costs assessed.
• Tambra J. Stephens, 26, of Quinton, pleaded guilty Nov. 17 to three bogus check charges. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for three years. She was also ordered to pay $2,415.24 in restitution.
• Shannon J. Gilpin, 38, of rural Quinton, pleaded guilty Nov. 17 to two bogus check charges. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for one year to run concurrent with a prior case. She was also ordered to pay $7,287.41 in restitution.
• In a separate case, Gilpin pleaded guilty Nov. 17 to three bogus check charges. Judgment and sentencing were deferred one year to run concurrent with a prior case.
• Lisa Dawn Kuykendall, 40, of McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 17 to four bogus check charges. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for two years. She was also ordered to pay $6,127.05 in restitution.
• Ruby Perteet Fulkerson, 71, of McAlester was charged with one count of a bogus check Nov. 17. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for one year. She was also ordered to pay $1,120.04 in restitution.
• Shanon Crochet, 28, of Calvin, pleaded guilty Nov. 17 to a bogus check charge. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for one year. She was also ordered to pay $1,019.00 in restitution.
• Janice Moore, 42, of McAlester pleaded guilty Nov. 17 to two bogus check charges. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for two years. She was also ordered to pay $2,857.51 in restitution.
• Deborah Biter, 45, of rural McAlester, pleaded guilty Nov. 17 to a bogus check charge. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for six months. She was also ordered to pay $1,093.25 in restitution.
• Ronnie L Ketcherside, 56, of rural Kiowa, pleaded guilty Nov. 17 to a bogus check charge. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for one year. He was also ordered to pay $874.80 in restitution.
• A bogus check charge was dismissed Nov. 17 for Heidi Estelle Wilson, 25, of rural Kiowa.
• A public intoxication charge was dismissed Nov. 12 for Joe Kent Heathcock, 46, of Savanna.
• A shooting from a public roadway charge was dismissed Nov. 13 for Randy Wayne Frazier, 50, of Wister.
• In a separate case, a charge of illegal possession of a white-tailed deer was also dismissed Nov. 13 for Frazier.
• In a separate case, a charge of illegal possession of a white-tailed deer was also dismissed Nov. 13 for Frazier.
• In a separate case, a charge of taking deer in closed season was also dismissed Nov. 13 for Frazier.
• In a separate case, a charge of hunting with the aid of a motorized vehicle was also dismissed Nov. 13 for Frazier.
• Adrian Landeta, 23, pleaded guilty Nov. 10 to aggravated DUI, driving with suspended license, and failure to carry insurance/security verification. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for one year. He was also fined $200 and ordered to attend a drug and alcohol assessment within 30 days of sentencing and a victims impact panel within 30 days of sentencing. Landeta was also ordered to have an interlock system installed in any vehicle he drives.
• Yvonne Carol Ellington, 18, of Alderson pleaded guilty Nov. 10 to driving in a manner not reasonable and proper, driving without a driver’s license, and failure to wear a seat belt. Judgment and sentencing were deferred for 60 days, along with $75 in fines. Count one was dismissed without cost and bond was applied to fine and court cost.

Quarter horses rescued in July by the Pittsburg County Sheriffs department are doing well, according to Joel Kerns Pittsburg County Sheriff.
