McALESTER —
A McAlester man was recently accused of raping a 14-year-old boy.
Marshall Kristopher Maxey, 23, was charged Monday in Pittsburg County District Court with second degree rape, lewd or indecent acts to a child younger than 16 years of age and public intoxication.
According to court records, Maxey allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with the young boy by the Railroad Bridge near South A Street in McAlester.
In a police interview, Maxey allegedly told authorities that, on July 15, he was under the bridge drinking when he met two guys. “Maxey offered them some beer,” a police affidavit states. He didn’t know their names or ages, Maxey told police.
Maxey allegedly told authorities that he walked off into the woods and engaged in consensual sexual intercourse with one of the guys, the affidavit states.
While being interviewed by police, Maxey was informed that the guy he had sex with was 14 years old, according to the affidavit. When he was told this, “Maxey put his head down and began to cry,” the affidavit states.
