McALESTER —
A man is wanted in connection with a police chase that took place early Friday morning. William Claude Gregory Jr., 39, of Broken Arrow, is wanted by the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office and is a person of interest related to the chase.
Pittsburg County Sheriff Deputy Nick Mattioda attempted to make a regular traffic stop on a 2000 Mitsubishi EGS, a two-door car registered to a man out of Quinton. “He tried to make the traffic stop and the vehicle took off,” said Pittsburg County Undersheriff Richard Bedford. “A chase ensued until the vehicle crashed on Doser Mountain Road in Longtown. The suspect departed the vehicle and ran on foot.”
A foot chase ensued and Bedford said that the Oklahoma Highway Patrol assisted in the search for the suspect. “And Lighthorsemen from the Creek Nation brought out a tracking dog.” Authorities searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect, Bedford said.
If anyone has any information regarding the incident, or any information regarding Gregory, a person of interest, they can contact the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office at 918-423-5858 or Pittsburg County Crime Stoppers at 866-970-8477 or 800-222-TIPS (8477).
