Linda Edmondson, wife of Attorney General and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Drew Edmondson, made a stop in McAlester Thursday as part of her “Linda on the Road” tour across the state in support of her husband’s race for the governor’s seat.
“What we’re doing today is old-fashioned campaigning,” Edmondson told the group of about 20 Democrats gathered at Taco Bob’s. “But what Drew and I have found is that we learn more from campaigning — from the people we talk to — than they learn about us. We learn their concerns, their questions, their opinions. Our ultimate goal is to hear from Oklahomans about what they want to see happen in the state.”
What they’re learning is that, so far, the concerns are the same from one end of the state to the other.
McAlester teacher and Pittsburg County Democrat Chair Brenda Calahan opened with the first question.
