McALESTER —
A Texas woman who was arrested earlier this month on drug charges pleaded no contest Friday in Pittsburg County District Court.
Crystal Lynn Cooper, 25, of Ennis, Texas, was originally charged with endeavoring to manufacture methamphetamine, false personation and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to court records, Cooper was traveling in a Ford Expedition with Robert Wesley Fry, 35, also of Ennis, Texas, when the pair were pulled over by McAlester. When police searched the vehicle, they allegedly found numerous items associated with making crystal meth. Authorities also searched the couple’s hotel room at the Happy Days Hotel, according to a police affidavit, and allegedly found more items associated with manufacturing meth.
Cooper pleaded no contest to the endeavoring to manufacture meth charge and was fined $1,100. She registered as a methamphetamine offender and sentencing was deferred for five years. The other two charges were dismissed.
Fry remains in custody at the Pittsburg County Jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond. He is due back in court March 1 at 9 a.m. to face charges.
