McALESTER —
A local woman pleaded guilty Friday in Pittsburg County District Court to a charge of maintaining a place for keeping/selling controlled substances.
Amber R. Sweet, 22, was also charged Jan. 31 with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of marijuana. Both of those charges were later dismissed.
According to court records, the Park Place Apartments property manager called police on Jan. 30 after completing an inspection of Sweet’s apartment. The manager, and assistant manager, noticed “drug items” in Sweet’s trash can, court documents indicate.
The District 18 Narcotics Task Force interviewed Sweet and searched her residence. During that search, authorities found numerous items “commonly associated with ... methamphetamine,” court records state.
After pleading guilty, Sweet was fined $1,200 and sentencing was deferred for seven years.
